A MAN caught driving while twice the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the roads.

Ralph Robbins, 55, of Laburnum Road, Waterlooville, admitted committing the offence while driving in Larchwood Avenue, Havant, on July 18.

A test revealed his breath contained 88 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres.

The legal limit is 35mg.

Robbins was ordered to take part in a Drink Impaired Drivers Programme and put under supervision for a year.

He was fined £150 and told to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £150 costs.

He was banned from driving for three years.
