Driver, 35, caught nearly five times the drink limit

A DRINK-DRIVER has been banned for 36 months.

Rachel Curtis, 35, of Powerscourt Road, Portsmouth, was nearly five times the limit when she was caught in Epworth Road, Copnor, on December 15 last year.

A test revealed she had 165 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.

She was given a community order with a drink-driver’s programme, 80 hours unpaid work and 20 days of rehabilitation.

Fareham magistrates ordered her to pay £620 in prosecution costs and a £60 victim surcharge. She pleaded guilty.
