A DRIVER from Southsea has been arrested by police after crashing his car into a lamppost.

The 28-year-old was driving a blue BMW Coupe which smashed into a street light at the bottom of the off-slip from the A27 at Warblington.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene at about 7.05pm on New Year’s Day.
