A MOTORIST who used stolen number plates to repeatedly drive off without paying for petrol has been ordered to do unpaid work.

Daniel Worboys stole petrol from two petrol stations in Petersfield on three separate occasions.

In all the 24-year-old managed to get away with more than £440 worth of fuel.

Worboys, of Dartmouth Road, Copnor, Portsmouth, stole three sets of number plates from people in Portsmouth.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of theft and three of making off without payment when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

At the time of the offences he was subject to a conditional discharge.

The magistrates ordered him to carry out 100 hours of community service within the next year.

Worboys was also told to pay £600 in court costs and compensation to his victims.
