DRINK-DRIVER Kenneth Davies has been banned from getting behind the wheel.

Davies, from Portsdown Hill Road, Havant, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving a Toyota Celica in Chalton Lane, Clanfield after drinking too much alcohol.

A test revealed Davies’ breath contained 49 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres.

The legal limit is 35mcg.

Davies was fined £600.

He was ordered to pay £60 to a fund for crime victims.

Davies must also pay £85 in court costs.

Portsmouth magistrates banned the 66-year-old from getting behind the wheel for a year.

The driving ban could be reduced by three months.

However Davies must first pay up to £250 for and complete a government-approved driving course by June 23 next year.
