DRINK-DRIVER Douglas Savege has been banned from getting behind the wheel.

The 48-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen Golf in Privett Road, Gosport, after drinking too much on March 28.

A test revealed his breath contained 55 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mg.

Savege, from Queens Road, Gosport, was fined £200 and told to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims and £85 in court costs. He was banned from driving for a year.
