POLICE caught a drug dealer trying to flush heroin and crack cocaine down the toilet when they raided a flat.

Officers searched the property in London Road, Portsmouth, after seeing a man leave and sell drugs on the street outside.

That man was Tyrone Mitchell and when the police arrested him they found two wraps of crack cocaine and a key to the flat.

When they burst into the home they found another man, Lawrence Mitchell, desperately trying to get rid of more drugs down the toilet.

Police recovered 23 wraps of heroin and two of crack cocaine, worth just over £1,000. They also found £500 in cash during the search in August last year.

The pair, who are not related, appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court where Tyrone Mitchell, 25, of no fixed address, admitted possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.

Lawrence Mitchell, 26, from Putney in London, admitted two charges of the same offence. They were remanded in custody to be sentenced in April.
