POLICE have closed a pub where they carried out a drugs raid.

The Old Barn pub in Felpham, Bognor, was raided by Sussex Police last week who applied to Arun District Council for a temporary closure of the premises.

It was agreed that the premises will be closed until a full hearing has taken place, which must be held within 28 days.

On December 23, a drugs warrant was executed at the Old Barn and 11 men were arrested on suspicion of drug offences. Two have since been charged.

David Towers, 31, of Pennyfields, Bognor Regis, has been charged with possession of cocaine and cannabis along with Liam O’Brien, 35, also of Pennyfields, who has been charged with possession of cocaine.

Both men have been bailed to appear at Chichester Magistrates’ Court on January 16.

Four men have been bailed until the new year pending further enquiries and another four received cautions for possession of class A drugs.
