A DRUNK woman tried to get school pupils into her car, police have said.

The woman approached the children in Horndean but then shouted abuse at them when they refused and walked off.

She was in a small white car with the front badge missing.

It happened in Catherington Lane and Merchistoun Road areas on Tuesday.

Hampshire police are investigating it as a ‘suspicious incident’.

PCSO Josephine Killick said: ‘The female appeared to be drunk and shouted abuse at the children once they declined and headed off away from her.’

She added: ‘Please speak to your children to make sure they are walking to and from school with friends and are vigilant at all times, or if possible drop them off and collect them yourself.’

Schools have been warned and there are extra patrols.
