Have your say

RELATIVES of missing sailor Timmy MacColl have written to the Dubai royal family begging for help in finding him.

The Leading Seaman, from Gosport, vanished on May 27 when HMS Westminster was docked in Port Rashid.

It is believed the grandfather of his devastated pregnant wife Rachael wrote to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum urging him to intensify the investigation.

Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage has been in regular contact with the family and has asked questions in parliament about the investigation, and held talks with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Military Police.

She said: ‘I know that the grandfather has written to the Dubai royal family to make them aware of the situation and to ask for help in any way they can.

‘Our hearts go out to them – they’re in an awful state of limbo. It’s difficult to get information because there are so many different agencies involved.’
