THIS e-fit has been released in the hunt for a robber who attacked a man in the street – for a £5 bottle of wine.

The 25-year-old victim was walking along Jellicoe Road in Gosport when the attacker approached him at the junction of Privett Road.

He demanded that the victim hand over the bottle of red wine he was carrying before punching him on the nose.

The victim gave him the bottle and the robber fled at about 10.20pm on April 10.

Now detectives hope releasing this e-fit image will help them track the suspect down.

Detective Constable Sandi Peet said: ‘We would like to hear from anyone who recognises the man in this e-fit.

‘If you believe you know him, please get in touch with police as soon as possible.’

The suspect is a white man, aged in his early 20s, of an athletic build with short, spiky blond hair.

He was clean shaven with a local accent and wore a yellow T-shirt with a square logo on the front and a black outline.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gosport CID on 101 quoting crime reference number 44110149730.
