Officers have released an e-fit of a man they would like to speak to following the incident in Cosham.

Police have just released details of the burglary which happened at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, February 28.

The man turned up at the 88-year-old victim’s flat, on Westerham Close, and said he needed to look at the kitchen due to some work being completed in the flat above.

He was allowed in for a short time but later, the victim noticed his wallet had been moved from within a drawer and cash had been taken.

The man was white, in his 30s, around 6ft tall, slim and with a pointy nose. He was wearing black trousers, a black denim jacket, a black cap and gloves.

Police would like to speak to anyone with information but are particularly keen to identify the man in the e-fit as he may have information to assist enquiries.

Detective Constable Gemma Tullett, from Fratton CID, said: ‘Do you recognise the man in the e-fit? We would also like to hear from anyone who saw a man matching the description provided by the victim in the area at this time or anyone acting suspiciously.

‘The man may not have been acting alone in this incident.

‘I would like to reassure members of the public that this appears to be an isolated incident at this time.’
