POLICE have released this e-fit after a woman was attacked and robbed in a Portsmouth car park.

The 37-year-old victim was walking home after celebrating New Year’s Eve in Guildhall Walk when she stopped for a rest behind Lake Road health centre.

She was then approached by a man who made inappropriate comments towards her before assaulting her and stealing her handbag.

The theft happened between 5.30am and 5.35am on Sunday, January 1, as reported in The News. The stolen bag contained an iPhone 4.

The man is described as having dark skin, about 5ft 7ins, of medium build, with short dark hair, and dark stubble.

He was wearing a V-neck white T-shirt, white three-quarter-length shorts with a light check pattern and had a foreign accent.

Detective Constable Fiona Wright said: ‘We believe the offender may live locally to St Mary’s Road and Lake Road. Anyone who can help identify this man, or has any information is asked to contact us.’

Call Det Con Wright at Fratton police station on 101 or the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
