POLICE have released this e-fit of a burglar wanted for stealing gold jewellery in a break-in.
A thief forced the front door of the property in Deanes Park Road, Fareham, while the 49-year-old woman homeowner was out.
A friend who had dropped round to walk the victim’s dog passed the house at about 5pm on February 13 and saw a white man in dark clothing ringing the doorbell.
When she returned between 6pm and 6.30pm, the house had been burgled.
The suspect pictured in the e-fit is believed to be aged in his 30s, slim and about 5ft 11in.
He wore a woolly hat, a light-coloured jacket and jeans and had a slim face and was clean-shaven.
His hair poked out from under the hat and appeared slightly curly.
Detective Constable Katie Wakefield, from Fareham CID, said: ‘The victim’s friend did not recognise the man and he said very little before appearing to leave the immediate area.
‘However, when the neighbour returned from walking her friend’s dog, she found the door to the house had been forced.
‘We’d appeal to anyone who believes they may know someone who matches this image to come forward in order to help us with our investigation.
‘We do of course appreciate that this man’s presence at the property could be completely innocent so we’d ask him to get in touch too.’
Anyone with information is asked to call Det Con Wakefield with information on 101 or the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555111.
