A MAN who posed as a plumber was part of a £1,000 distraction burglary, police said.

A man knocked at a flat in Conan Road, Hilsea, saying he wanted to check the water pressure. The elderly woman victim let him in, but then another person went upstairs, cut a padlock off a cabinet and took £1,000. PCSO Rebecca Hambrook said: ‘The victim is an elderly female and it appears that she has been targeted due to her age.’
