‘FAKE police officers’ have conned three elderly pensioners out of £25,000, Hampshire Constabulary has warned.

The pensioners were called by a crook who claimed to be a police officer investigating fraudulent transactions in the victim’s bank account.

They were then asked to withdraw cash before being told some of it was counterfeit and that a courier would collect it. Police are now warning people not to fall for the con.
