AN 80-year-old woman has been robbed of irreplaceable family mementos after burglars raided her home.

Police are hunting the offenders who broke into the woman’s house in Langstone Road, Havant.

The pensioner took out some jewellery to clean it.

While it was left on the side, someone broke into her house through an unsecured door, police say.

The stolen haul includes a gold necklace with a rose gold watch chain and a sovereign from Queen Victoria’s Coronation, dated 1887.

There are also two gold sovereigns, dated 1912, and a half gold sovereign dated 1907.

The burglary happened between August 12 and 14.

PC Lucia Davies said: ‘This is a horrible crime where someone has stolen items very precious to this lady.’
