Family robbed by three men with knife and a taser

Two occupants were injured and paramedics were called to the suspected robbery in Seymour Close, Buckland, Portsmouth.

Nearby residents have told of their shock as police cars rushed to the area on Monday at about 4pm.

Hampshire police confirmed two people were threatened in the incident at one of the blocks in the road.

Cash and a couple of mobile phones were taken in the shocking raid.

The News understands the alleged victims, a family, were shaken and are now coming to terms with what happened.

A taser and a knife were involved in the incident, The News understands.

A woman who lives nearby, who asked not to be named, said: ‘It’s a little bit close to home.’

The 50-year-old added: ‘I’m more worried about the lady and her family – it’s scary.

‘I’ve been burgled before when I was a little girl and it’s a pretty horrible thing to go through. My thoughts are with her and her family.’

Unconfirmed reports have said three people were in the home during the robbery and that two people were taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.

South Central Ambulance Service confirmed it attended a ‘medical emergency.

The service did not give further details.

A resident who asked not to be named said: ‘It’s not uncommon around here I’m afraid.’

The 44-year-old added: ‘Nothing shocks me unless it involves guns.’

Sylvia Pettit, 72, who lives nearby, said: ‘I’ve been here 50 years and it’s always the middle block that has problems. I’ve never had any problems here.’

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Officers were going door-to-door looking for witnesses immediately after the suspected robbery.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Mark Brockman is appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about who was behind the robbery.
