A householder scared off raiders when he found them trying to burgle his Fareham home.

The man and woman fled empty handed after being discovered in the bungalow in Blackbrook Park Avenue.

Police revealed today that the incident happened at around 4pm on Thursday, June 6.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: ‘They disturbed a man living in the house - he challenged them and they left the address without stealing anything.’

The first suspect was described as a white man, aged 30-40 years, 5 ft 10 ins tall, slim build, short cropped style black hair. He was wearing a blue and white thick horizontal striped t-shirt and baggy shorts.

The second suspect is a white woman, aged 30-40 years, 5 ft 6 ins tall, large build, blonde long hair. She was wearing a strapped top.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Dermot McBride said: ‘This was clearly frightening for a householder to find people he did not know in his address. No confrontation took place and the offenders left empty handed.’
