A JUDGE has warned a man he faces prison after admitting sexual offences with a child.

James Maddams pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child and causing a child to engage in sexual activity.

Maddams, 20, of Portchester Road, Fareham, was released on bail to be sentenced next month at Portsmouth Crown Court. Judge Ian Pearson told him: ‘Don’t assume that because you are on bail a non-custodial sentence will automatically follow.

‘Custody will have to be considered for offences of this nature.’
