A RESIDENT has warned others about what he thinks was a phone scam.

Anthony Freemantle, of Jonathan Road, Fareham, was called by a man who said he could obtain refunds owed for bank overcharging.

The caller asked for bank details and became abusive when Mr Freemantle turned down his offer of help. He would not give his name.

Mr Freemantle said: ‘I wasn’t going to be taken in, but I wouldn’t like him to target other people.’
