A 52-year-old man wrote ‘goodbye’ on Facebook before killing himself, an inquest heard.

Mark Windsor, from Middle Mead, in Fareham, was found by his son on September 9 last year in their home.

The father-of-two had recently separated from his wife and was finding it hard to deal with the situation, the inquest revealed.

Blood samples found he had 46mg of alcohol per 100ml of which is half the drink driving limit.

Therapeutic levels of different drugs were found but weren’t considered to be a contributing factor.

David Horsley, head coroner for Hampshire, ruled the death as suicide.

In his conclusion, he said: ‘From the evidence I have heard and because of the Facebook update, I am satisfied Mr Windsor died from taking his own life.’
