MAGISTRATES have fined a teenager caught drink-driving when he didn’t have a full licence or any insurance.

Nathan Heywood was stopped as he drove a Ford Ka in Chichester Road, Portsmouth, on February 24.

The 18-year-old had 48mg of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg. Further police checks revealed Heywood was driving without a full licence or insurance.

Heywood, of Vernon Avenue, Southsea, admitted drink-driving, driving not in accordance with a licence and without insurance at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

He was fined £250 with £100. Heywood was also banned from driving for a year.
