Four boys armed with axe and knife attempt to rob man in Clanfield

FOUR boys, who attempted to a rob a man in Clanfield were armed with a '˜small axe'.

Police are investigating the incident which took place at 12.15am on Sunday in South Lane Meadow, off South Lane.

A police spokeswoman said: '˜At about 12.15am a 21-year-old man was walking through the field off of South Lane when he was approached by four boys.

'˜One of the boys had a knife and demanded the man's phone and wallet. At that time another boy produced a weapon, which was described as a small axe.

'˜The man fought off the boy with the knife and fled the scene.'

The boy with the knife was described as aged between 10 and 16 years old, five foot eight with dark hair.

He was wearing black jeans and a dark grey hoody with a Thorpe Park '˜swarm grenade' logo.

A police spokeswoman added: '˜We'd like to hear from anyone who recognises the boy from the description given.

'˜Does your son, or any of your children's friends have a hoody like the one described? Was your son out in the early hours of Sunday? Did he come home with any injuries?'
