Four friends in BMW with cocaine, MDMA and ketamine stopped by police in Cosham

Portsmouth Crown Court heard officers in Havant Road, Cosham, stopped Dominic Blackall driving a BMW with Syed Chowdhry, Ibrahim El Jabir and Daniel Elliot inside.

Prosecutor Timothy Moores said Blackall stuffed a bag with £200 worth of MDMA and a small amount of ketamine inside his trousers.

Former Portsmouth Grammar School student Chowdhury, who had been expelled for cannabis use, had 20 snap bags of cocaine in a yellow pot worth £1,000. He had £350 cash seized.

Dad-of-one Elliot swallowed pills. He was taken to the police station and tried to flush MDMA away but officers found the split bag in the basin. Three small bags of cocaine were found in his underwear.

Ibrahim El Jabir, who said he had been forced into paying off a debt, had cannabis in his pocket and two bags of cocaine, in his underwear, and told police: ‘I’ll get a fine right?’

Prosecutor Timothy Moores said: ‘The investigation of the phones and background have not revealed involvement in any larger networks or any suggestions this is county lines.

‘This is all local young men who knew each other and who to a greater or lesser extent have been users themselves, and some have through various connections branched into dealing themselves.’

Both Elliot and Blackall, who a judge said he accepted had changed his ways, had been stopped three months earlier, on April 7 in 2018, where a ‘significant quantity’ of boxes of laughing gas and balloons were found.

Elliot had £350 worth of cocaine on him and 20 grip-seal bags of MDMA worth hundreds of pounds, and three MDMA tablets worth £30.

His two phones revealed him being involved in supplying MDMA and cocaine since 2017. Blackall had ketamine.

Chowdhury, a takeaway restaurant worker and Brighton university student, was also stopped in a car on July 2 last year and had a small bag of cannabis. The former cocaine addict has stopped taking drugs.

Sentencing, judge Timothy Mousley QC said: ‘Anybody who supplies class A drugs must expect a custodial sentence either immediate or suspended.

‘You will all be aware now of the misery and destruction of people’s lives and sometimes in the supplying class A drugs, death.’

Judge Mousley imposed a 14-month jail term suspended for 18 months on Chowdhury, Elliot and El Jabir. Elliot was fined £100.

Chowdhury must complete 20 rehabilitation activity days and was fined £100. El Jabir must complete 150 hours’ unpaid work and 10 rehabilitation days, and pay a £100 fine. Blackall was fined £150.

Amazon delivery driver Dominic Blackall, 21, of Hulbert Road, Waterlooville, admitted two charges of possessing class A, cocaine and MDMA, and possessing a class B drug, ketamine.

Syed Chowdhury, 19, of Cousins Grove, Southsea, admitted possession of cocaine with intent to supply, and possession of cannabis.

Ibrahim El Jabir, 20, of Britain Street, Portsea, admitted two charges of possessing cannabis, possessing cocaine, and being concerned in the supply of MDMA and ketamine.

Daniel Elliot, 19, of Hilsea Crescent, Hilsea, admitted two charges of possessing class A drugs, MDMA and cocaine. He also admitted being concerned in the supply of both drugs.
