POLICE are appealing for the public’s help in investigating a series of thefts from cars in Portsmouth.

In a Hampshire Alert officers said the Mountbatten Centre car park, the Nuffield Health Centre car park, Alexandra Park car park and Hilsea Lido car park had been targeted over the last few weeks.

Each time a car window was smashed and items had been taken from inside the vehicle.

Police have asked people if they have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the surrounding area, if they have heard any strange noises, and whether anyone has any private CCTV which may have recorded people walking along the street.

A police spokesperson said: ‘Your assistance in the matter is greatly appreciated.’

Police have also advised drivers not to leave valuables in their car.
