BENEFIT cheat Daniel Hedger has been told to stay at home at night.

The 33-year-old, of Knox Road, Stamshaw, Portsmouth, admitted dishonestly failing to notify Fareham Borough Council about a change that would affect his housing benefit.

Between July 15, 2013, and September 27, 2015, Hedger did not tell the authority he was employed.

Fareham magistrates imposed a community order with a six-month curfew between 9pm to 5am between Sundays and Thursdays.

He must pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs. His guilty plea was taken into account when he was sentenced.
