Funeral ashes stolen in Portsmouth house burglary

ASHES of a burglary victim's dead family member have been stolen, police have said.

Hampshire police officers are asking for information after the burglary in Deerhurst Crescent, in Paulsgrove, on Tuesday.

It happened between 1.45pm and 4.45pm when a burglar kicked in a rear UPVC door.

A heart-shaped crystal containing ashes of the victim’s family member were stolen, along with irreplaceable jewellery.

Items stolen include: a man’s Armani watch, a woman’s Armani watch, a Swarovski ring, a Tiffany ring, Tiffany earrings, a diamond bracelet and a charm bracelet.

A spokeswoman said: ‘Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anyone acting suspicious in the area around the time of the burglary, or anyone who is offered these items for sale.’
