Detective Constable Lorraine Bell said: ‘It was at this point that the young girl was approached by an unknown woman who asked if she was ok.

‘We would like to speak to this woman as she may have information that could assist our investigation, so if this was you, please get in touch.

‘We are also aware that as this was a hot day during the summer holidays there would have been a lot of people in the park so we are appealing to anyone who saw this incident to call us.

‘Fortunately the victim did not suffer any injuries but she has understandably been left very distressed by this incident.’
