POLICE carried out a search for an eight-year-old girl who went missing from her home.

The youngster disappeared in Havant at 7.25pm last night.

Officers found her safe and well 45 minutes later after they scoured the area.

The girl was then taken home. Dave Hobbs, of Hampshire Constabulary’s control room, said: ‘An eight-year-old girl had gone missing from an address in Havant. We responded quite quickly and an extensive search of the area was made. There is nothing sinister about what happened.’
