ATTACKER John Paterson has been spared jail.

Paterson, 53, of Jamaica Place, Gosport, admitted assaulting a man and a woman by beating them in Gosport.

He was sentenced to 18 weeks in jail suspended for a year and given a curfew ordering him not to leave home between 8pm and 6am daily for three months.

Paterson was ordered to pay £200 compensation.
