THIEVES have smashed their way into a betting shop in the early hours of the morning.

The Betfred shop in Gosport’s High Street was targeted between 4.30am and 5am yesterday.

Nothing was stolen from the bookmakers.

Detective Constable Dermot McBride is from Fareham and Gosport CID.

He said: ‘I would like to hear from anyone who saw people acting suspiciously on Gosport High Street at the time of this incident.

‘The area would have been fairly quiet at this time of day but there may have been people making their way to work.’
