DRINK-DRIVER Lee Kanel has been spared a ban.

Kanel, 26, admitted driving a Renault Megane in Varos Close, Gosport, after drinking too much.

A test revealed his breath contained 54 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mg.

Kanel, from Melville Road, Gosport, was fined £290 and told to pay £15 to a fund for victims of crime and £85 in court costs by Fareham magistrates.

Three penalty points were added to his driving licence.
