A DRUG addict who admitted causing racially-aggravated harassment, alarm or distress to a victim has been told to pay compensation.

Simon Gutteridge, 29, of Pavilion Way, Gosport, admitted committing the offence in Gosport while he was subject to a conditional discharge. He was told to pay £25 compensation and a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs by Fareham magistrates.

Gutteridge was ordered to have six months of treatment for his drug dependency.

He was put under supervision for a year.
