A man from Gosport has died after his Ford Transit van collided with a lorry near Basingstoke on Thursday.

The crash happened at the junction between the A30 and A33 at about 4.10pm.

The 38-year-old died the following day at Southampton General Hospital, while his passenger - a 30-year-old from Gosport - remains in hospital.

He is being treated for serious injuries, but these are not thought to be life-threatening.

The three people in the lorry were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

No-one else was hurt and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what happened.
