A MEAT thief has been fined.

Stephen Skinner pleaded guilty to stealing meat and a pasty worth £4.23 from the Co-op in Rowner Road, Gosport, on February 1.

The 41-year-old, from Cornwell Close, Gosport, was fined £75 by Fareham magistrates.

He was also ordered to pay £4.23 compensation to the Co-op and £15 into a fund for victims of crime.

Skinner also admitted committing the offence while subject to a conditional discharge imposed in August last year for possessing class B drug cannabis and heroin substitute methadone.

Magistrates took no action on the breach.
