A MEAT thief has been jailed.

Charlotte Adams, from St Vincent Road, Gosport, pleaded guilty to stealing meat worth £30 from a Gosport Co-op.

She also pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to surrender to custody and to committing the crime while subject to a suspended sentence imposed for nine counts of shoplifting.

The 24-year-old was sentenced at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court to eight weeks in jail.

No order for costs was made.
