A CONVICTED drug dealer was found with a stash of cocaine on him in Gosport.

Malik Muyomba was stopped by the police as he drove a Ford Fiesta in Dukes Road, Gosport.

The 24-year-old, who does not have a full driving licence and shouldn’t have been driving, gave a false name to try to get out of trouble.

But when the officers decided to search the car they found 17 grams of cocaine.

It was only when they checked Muyomba’s fingerprints back at the police station that his true identity came to light, along with the fact that he has previous convictions.

Muyomba, of Richmond Park Road, in Bournemouth, pleaded guilty to one charge of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply, obstructing a police officer, driving without a full licence and driving without insurance when he appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court.

He admitted having the drugs but claimed he was holding them for people he was in debt with.

Prosecutor Tammy Mears said the crown did not accept his version of events so there will be another hearing next week.

Muyomba was bailed until then.
