SERIAL shoplifter Marcus Wall has been jailed.

The 21-year-old was caught after stealing an £18 jumper from Peacocks at the Cremer Mall in Fareham – while subject to a suspended sentence.

Wall, from Yewside, Gosport, had denied the charge but was found guilty by Fareham magistrates.

He had committed the crime on October 4 while a suspended sentence was in place for four separate charges.

Magistrates had imposed a 16-week sentence suspended for a year for one count of actual bodily harm, failing to surrender to custody, stealing wine from Budgens in Broom Way, Lee-on-the-Solent and stealing wine and lager from the BP garage in Forton Road, Gosport.

Wall was sentenced to four weeks in jail.
