Police are now seeking witnesses to the assault which happened on the cycle track near Carlyle Road in Gosport on Monday, May 2.

At about 7.30pm the 15-year-old boy was riding along the track when he felt a heavy blow to the back of his head from the object, which caused him to fall off his bike. He then saw three men running away from him.

The victim did not report the assault initially, but later suffered from headaches and reported it to police after he had visited the hospital.

He also lost a set of earphones and his bicycle pump during the assault that could have been taken by the offenders.

There were three suspects. One is described as having stocky legs, one was wearing Adidas trainers and another was skinny.
