A HOUSEHOLD waste recycling centre in Gosport is re-open after staff found ammunition.
The centre, off Grange Road, had been closed since 12.30pm today.
A spokesman from Portsmouth Naval Base confirmed ammunition was found on the site.
She said: ‘The bomb disposal unit went to the centre in Gosport and dealt with two practise rounds of ammunition. They were of no historical value.
‘The site was cordoned off by police while the ammunition was dealt with.
‘There was no threat to the public.’
People were being turned away from the centre while it was cleared.
