Payton Sparks’ grandmother Jeanette Waterhouse hit out at the sentence given to her killer.

Mrs Waterhouse, from Leigh Park, said the family were hoping that Lewis Young would get the maximum sentence of 14 years for causing death by dangerous driving.

Today, he was jailed for eight years.

‘I think it’s disgusting what he got,’ Mrs Waterhouse said.

She added: ‘’Her poor mum, my daughter. We will never get over this.’
