GRANTS of up to £5,000 are being offered by Hampshire’s police and crime commissioner to support local projects designed to cut crime.
Simon Hayes is inviting applicants to bid for a share of £34,200 from his Protecting People and Places fund.
Mr Hayes said: ‘It is almost a year since I was elected as the first police and crime commissioner for Hampshire.
‘During that time I have been impressed by the amount of good work I have either seen or heard about across all parts of the county and Isle of Wight.
‘The contributions these initiatives make in protecting our communities and making them safer is impressive, and I want this work to continue.’
He added: ‘By offering these grants, I am providing opportunities for everyone to become involved in creating safer environments from which we can all benefit.’
The deadline for applications is noon on October 14.
