Grieving daughter urges Southern Health to learn lessons from M27 bridge tragedy

THE family of a woman who jumped from a bridge on the M27 has urged Southern Health to learn from its mistakes.

Laura Hayes, 32, of Padnell Avenue, Waterlooville, admitted drink-driving.

She was caught in Albert Road, Southsea, on October 1.

A test showed she had 63 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, nearly double the 35mg legal limit.

Portsmouth magistrates fined her £100 with a £30 victim surcharge.

Hayes also admitted failing to surrender to custody at court on October 18.

Magistrates imposed no separate penalty for this.
