Grieving neighbours hold vigil for Keziah

Shocked residents held a vigil for a little girl found dying beside her father's body.

Scores of people gathered last night outside the Isle of Wight home where six-year-old Keziah Flux-Edmonds lived.

Keziah was discovered lying next to the bodies of her father, Darren Flux-Edmonds, 44, and two dogs, police said.

She was rushed to hospital from a home in Cromwell Avenue in East Cowes on Wednesday morning but died a short time later.

Friends of the family reportedly said Keziah loved the Disney film Frozen and would often dress up as its main character, the princess Elsa.

Grieving friends left bunches of flowers and cuddly toys outside the house following the tragedy.

Mr Flux-Edmonds described himself as “temporarily unemployed” on his Facebook page, where he had posted a number of smiling photographs of his young daughter in recent months.

The tattooed father also posted a series of quotes about heartbreak and pain, including one that read: “Lord, my heart hurts right now. I have no idea what I need, but you do. Please help.”

He and his wife Nikki marked their 12th wedding anniversary in March but some of his recent Facebook posts suggest they may have recently split up.

A Hampshire Police spokeswoman said: “Darren Flux-Edmonds, 44, was found dead by officers at an address in Cromwell Avenue.

“His daughter, Keziah Flux-Edmonds, six, was found unconscious at the address and was taken to St Mary’s Hospital. She died a short time later.

“Investigations into the exact circumstances of the deaths are ongoing today on behalf of the coroner and post-mortems are being carried out today.

“The family, who are being supported by specialist officers, has asked for privacy at this very difficult time and we would urge media to respect their wishes.”
