POLICE in Portsmouth arrested a man on suspicion of robbery.

It comes after cash was stolen from a newsagent in Locksway Road, Milton, at around 6pm yesterday.

Police were called but the man had run away.

A couple of hours later, the suspect was spotted in 
St Paul’s Road in 

A member of the public called police fearing he was carrying a gun.

The 24-year-old suspect was arrested by police near The Old Vic pub.

When officers apprehended him he was not found to be carrying carrying a gun.
