Daniel Sharpe, 26, was sentenced after admitting to six robberies in Eastleigh, Bishops Waltham, Locksheath, Chandlers Ford and Romsey between October 21 and February 6.
During the first robbery, Sharpe, who has no fixed address, was reported to have confronted staff with a knife at Betting Limited in Bishops Waltham before three days later threatening workers at Corals in Locksheath Shopping Centre with a hammer. He then went on to rob four other betting shops using a range of weapons, including a wrench and crowbar, to force staff to hand over cash.

‘I hope this sentence goes some way to helping them move on from these distressing incidents. I also hope this sentence sends a clear message to anyone considering committing this type of violent crime.
‘It will not be tolerated and we will always carry out a thorough investigation to catch those responsible and ensure they are brought to justice.’
After pleading guilty to six counts of robbery, four counts of possession of an offensive weapon and two counts of possessing a bladed article in a public place, Sharpe was sentenced at Southampton Crown Court.
