Hampshire Constabulary defend Titchfield Carnival fee

Man in court for assault

Have your say

CHARGING £1,265 to police a village carnival may seem a bit steep, but Hampshire Constabulary has defended its fee saying that they do not make a profit from it.

Titchfield Carnival organisers have said they are struggling to cope with rising costs, including the police.

The police said this fee is in line with national guidelines and the carnival received a 50 per cent deduction because it is a community event.

The carnival starts at midday on Sunday, October 28.
