A PLAN to change the county’s police force has been scrapped.

Michael Lane, Hampshire’s police and crime commissioner, said changing Hampshire Constabulary’s name to include the Isle of Wight is not a priority. It was proposed by his predecessor.

Mr Lane said he wants to keep people safe, adding: ‘Changing the name of Hampshire Constabulary is therefore not a priority.’
