Hampshire police officer charged with sex offences

A POLICE officer has been charged with child sex offences.

Serving Hampshire police officer PC Keith Burgess, 41, a neighbourhood officer based at Southampton Central Police Station, was charged with seven offences.

He is charged with three counts of misconduct in a public office, two counts of making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child, one count of sexual assault on a female and one count of meeting a girl under 16 following sexual grooming. He has been suspended and is on bailed until June 2 when he is due at Guildford Magistrates’ Court.
